What is KōmoriCon?
KōmoriCon is an annual anime convention that was started by a group of passionate students at the University of Texas at Austin in 2023, with the first annual convention on February 10, 2024.
It aims to provide fans and creators a space where they can interact and share their love of anime. At KōmoriCon, fans will be able to attend activities such as the Artist Alley, panels, performances, and more!
The convention’s mascots are Mori and her best friend, Kō the bat. Together, they embody the spirit of the convention — fun, creativity, and community.
KōmoriCon On the Web
Figma + Webflow
It was my job to bring KōmoriCon to the web. From hero sections to custom embeds, I turned the magic of KōmoriCon into a scrollable experience that potential convention goers would be able to learn more about the convention, grab tickets, and get excited!
For the official KōmoriCon website, I designed and built 9 unique pages.
From getting involved to grabbing a badge to getting in touch, each page had its own theme that brought a different part of the convention to life.
Building Excitement
Each of us was given just one minute to draw Mori, our mascot, while being recorded. These quick and quirky sketches were posted individually on our Instagram in the days leading up to the convention.
We then turned them into stickers, which attendees could collect during a bounty hunt by finding us throughout the event and placing the stickers on the back of their badges.
One of the biggest goals for the website was to build excitement for the convention. One of my favorite ways we generated that excitement as showrunners was through our “Minute Moris” campaign. (See Above)

Inspired by the "Who's that Pokémon?" segment in the old Pokémon seasons, I wanted to do do my part in building anticipation for the convention.
I teased our mascot, Mori, as a silhouette on the homepage, then revealed the full-color version with the badge announcement to surprise visitors and add to the excitement.

Merchandising
Square + Eventeny
Ticket and merchandise sales were created, listed, and tracked using Square and Eventeny. This ensured a smooth purchasing experience for attendees.
These sites generated over $17k in ticket and merchandise sales alone.

Attendees were able to purchase exclusive KōmoriCon merch the KōmoriCon Online Shop on Square, which is linked under the Merch tab on the KōmoriCon site.
Additionally, visitors could view Ticket Details and purchase directly through an embedded checkout from Eventeny on the Get Tickets page right on the KōmoriCon site!
This allowed attendees direct access to obtaining their badges directly without the hassle!
What Happens at KōmoriCon STAYS at KōmoriCon
KōmoriCon offers a wide array of events, from doodle contests to MikuFest, a full-on concert experience!
To keep attendees up to date on the events at KōmoriCon, I created an Activities page on the KōmoriCon site.
Events are listed in a dropdown format, where visitors can click to see details like time and location.

Sometimes, people need just a little bit of help...
KōmoriCon offers a wide array of events, from doodle contests to MikuFest, a full-on concert experience!
That's why I created a Frequently Asked Questions page!
If anyone has any questions before or during the convention, they will be able to conveniently find the answer to their inquiry here :)
Conversely, if an attendee is unable to find the answer to their inquiry in the FAQs, they can head over to the Contact Us form!
The submission form will be sent directly to the Kōmori Con email, where our team will be there to answer their question <3
What happened at KōmoriCon?
The second annual KōmoriCon took place on March 8, 2025, and welcomed a total of 1,021 attendees, with 825 tickets sold.
As a showrunner for the convention, I was responsible for assisting with event setup and takedown, planning and creating the event schedule, attending and facilitating planning meetings, and developing meeting agendas.
Total Attendees: 1021
Total Tickets Sold: 825
Total Revenue: $25,000
After the event, I compiled and analyzed detailed financial reports in Google Sheets, tracking a total revenue of $25,000. I reported on expenses, profit margins, ticket and merchandise sales breakdowns, and other key performance metrics to evaluate the convention’s success and provide insights for future event planning.
Thank you to my team <3
This convention would not have been possible without my fellow staff <3
After spending so much time working on this event, I’ve grown to deeply appreciate and care for everyone I’ve had the chance to work with. It’s been a truly special experience, and I’m so excited to do this again next year!
